Responsible Gaming
at okpey
Gaming is supposed to be fun — and at okpey, we want to keep it that way for every Filipino player. This page covers everything you need to know about playing safely, using our built-in protection tools, and knowing when to step back.
Built-In Tools to Keep Your Gaming Safe
okpey provides every registered player with a full suite of responsible gaming tools — accessible directly from your account settings at any time, no questions asked.
Deposit Limits
Set a maximum amount you are comfortable depositing into your okpey account on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once your chosen limit is reached, you will not be able to top up further until the period resets. Limits can be lowered at any time — but increases take effect only after a mandatory 7-day cooling period to prevent impulsive decisions.
Session Time Reminders
Configure alerts that notify you when you have been playing on okpey for a set amount of time — say, 30 minutes, one hour, or two hours. It is easy to lose track of time when you are in the middle of a session, especially on mobile. These reminders are a nudge to pause, take a break, and check in with yourself before continuing.
Cooling-Off Period
Need a short break from gaming? A cooling-off period lets you temporarily suspend your okpey account for a fixed duration — from as little as 24 hours up to six weeks. During this time, you will not be able to log in, deposit, or place any bets. This is ideal if you feel your sessions have been getting longer or more frequent than you intended.
Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is okpey's most comprehensive player protection tool. You can apply to be excluded from the platform for a defined period — or permanently. Once a self-exclusion is in place, your account is fully blocked and you will not receive any marketing from okpey for the duration. This is irreversible during the elected period, and we enforce it without exception.
Loss Limits
On top of deposit controls, okpey allows you to set a maximum net loss limit per day, week, or month. Once you reach your elected loss limit, you are automatically locked out of wagering for the remainder of that period. This tool is particularly useful for players who want hard guardrails against chasing losses during a bad session.
Reality Checks
Reality check pop-ups display a summary of your current gaming session — how long you have been playing, your net result for the session, and your total wager amount. These appear at regular intervals you configure yourself. Seeing the real numbers in front of you during a session is one of the most effective ways to make genuinely informed decisions about whether to keep playing or stop.
How to Set Up Your Protection Tools on okpey
All responsible gaming tools on okpey are self-service — you do not need to contact support to activate them. Here is how to get them set up on your account right now.
These tools are available on both desktop and mobile. Because most Filipino players use okpey on their phones, the settings menu is designed to be fully accessible on a small screen in under a minute.
If you ever need help activating a tool, adjusting a limit, or discussing a self-exclusion, our support team is available 24/7 at [email protected] and via live chat in your account dashboard.
Step 1: Log in to Your okpey Account
Access your okpey account by visiting the Login page. All responsible gaming tools are found inside your authenticated account — you need to be logged in to use them.
Step 2: Open Account Settings
Tap or click your profile icon in the top corner of the screen, then select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu. This takes you to your full account management panel.
Step 3: Select "Responsible Gaming"
Inside Account Settings, you will find a dedicated "Responsible Gaming" section. This is where all player protection tools live — deposit limits, session reminders, cooling-off, loss limits, and self-exclusion.
Step 4: Configure Your Preferred Tools
Each tool has its own setup screen. For limits, you enter a peso amount or time value. For cooling-off and self-exclusion, you select a duration from the available options. Changes that reduce protection take effect immediately. Changes that increase limits apply after the mandatory review period.
Step 5: Confirm and Save
Confirm your selection and your protection settings are active immediately. okpey will send a confirmation to your registered email and mobile number. You can return to this section at any time to review your settings or activate additional tools.
Understanding Self-Exclusion on okpey
Self-exclusion is the most serious player protection tool available on okpey, and we want you to understand exactly what it means before you apply — and also to know that using it is always the right call if you feel you need it. There is no shame in it. It is the responsible choice, and okpey fully supports you in making it.
When you self-exclude from okpey, your account is fully suspended for the elected period. You cannot log in, cannot deposit, and cannot place any wagers. You will be immediately removed from all okpey marketing communications — no promotional SMS, no bonus emails, nothing. This happens automatically and without delay.
The exclusion is enforced strictly. okpey will not reinstate a self-excluded account during the active exclusion period under any circumstances, regardless of the reason provided. This is by design — it gives you a genuine, reliable break when you need one.
To apply for self-exclusion, go to Account Settings → Responsible Gaming → Self-Exclusion, or contact our support team directly at [email protected]. A self-exclusion request submitted via support will be applied within 24 hours.
Self-Exclusion Period Options
Choose the exclusion duration that feels right for you. All periods are firm and will not be shortened once applied. Permanent exclusion is final — there is no reinstatement process after a permanent self-exclusion is confirmed.
Any balance remaining in your account at the time of self-exclusion will be returned to your verified withdrawal method after the exclusion period ends, subject to the standard withdrawal process.
Warning Signs That Gaming May Be Becoming a Problem
Problem gambling can develop gradually — and it is not always obvious when fun gaming starts to cross a line. These are warning signs that players in the Philippines and across the world commonly recognize when looking back on their experiences.
You find yourself spending more time or money on gaming than you originally planned — and it happens regularly, not just once.
You chase losses — placing more bets in an attempt to win back money you have already lost in the same session or a previous one.
Gaming is affecting your ability to meet financial obligations — bills, rent, savings, or support for your family are impacted by what you spend on gaming.
You feel irritable, anxious, or restless when you are not playing — and these feelings are relieved by gaming rather than by rest or other activities.
You hide or downplay your gaming activity from family members, friends, or your partner — or feel ashamed about how much you play or spend.
You have tried to cut back or stop gaming before but found it difficult to stick to your own rules — and returned to the same patterns shortly after.
Gaming is interfering with your work, studies, relationships, or health — your responsibilities are suffering because of time or mental energy spent on gaming.
You borrow money, use credit, or sell possessions to fund your gaming — or have considered doing so even if you have not done it yet.
Check In With Yourself
These questions are based on responsible gaming assessment frameworks used in the Philippines and internationally. They are not a diagnosis — they are a starting point for honest reflection.
Have you bet more money than you could comfortably afford to lose in the past month?
Have you felt the need to bet increasing amounts of money to get the same level of excitement you used to feel from smaller bets?
When you tried to reduce or stop gambling, did you feel restless, irritable, or find it hard to focus on other things?
Have you ever used gaming as a way to escape problems, stress, boredom, or difficult emotions rather than as entertainment?
After losing, have you returned the next day to try to win back what you lost — and done this more than once?
Have there been times when gaming has caused conflict with family members, your partner, or people close to you?
Tips for Healthy Gaming Habits
Set a Budget Before You Start
Decide on a fixed peso amount you are comfortable spending — and treat it like an entertainment expense, not an investment. When it is gone, the session is over. Use okpey's deposit limit tool to make this automatic rather than relying on willpower alone.
Set a Time Limit
Gaming sessions have a way of stretching longer than intended. Decide in advance how long you will play — and stick to it. okpey's session reminder tool will alert you when your chosen time is up, so you do not have to keep checking the clock yourself.
Play for Entertainment, Not Income
Casino games — including Sic Bo, baccarat, and slots — are designed as entertainment. The house always has a mathematical edge over the long term. Winning is possible, but it is not reliable. Never gamble with money you need for living expenses, savings, or family obligations.
Take Regular Breaks
Step away from the screen at regular intervals — even if it is just five minutes. Breaks reset your perspective and reduce the risk of impulsive decisions that come from being in a long, emotionally charged session. Stretch, hydrate, and come back fresh.
Never Chase Losses
Chasing losses — placing more bets to recover what you have already lost — is one of the clearest signs of problem gambling. If you are down and feeling the urge to "win it back," that is exactly the right moment to stop, step away, and return another day with a clear head.
Talk to Someone You Trust
If you are worried about your gaming habits — or someone who is close to you has raised concerns — talk to a family member, friend, or counselor you trust. Sometimes hearing your own situation described out loud to someone else is enough to provide clarity about whether things are okay or not.
Support Available for Filipino Players
If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulties related to gambling, support is available. You do not have to handle this alone. The following options are open to you.
okpey Responsible Gaming Team
okpey's support team is available 24/7 and trained to help with responsible gaming concerns — whether you need help setting up protection tools, applying for self-exclusion, or just want to talk through your situation.
PAGCOR Player Welfare
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) oversees gaming regulation in the Philippines and maintains player welfare resources for Filipino players experiencing gambling-related difficulties. Contact PAGCOR for guidance on their responsible gaming programs.
NCMH — Mental Health Support
The National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) provides free mental health services to Filipinos across the country. If gambling stress is affecting your mental health or your relationships, their counseling services are open to all Filipinos regardless of location.
